Noel’s Diary
Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has been writing a blog documenting his band’s current US tour, and well, he’s been talking about almost anything and everything his head can think of. It’s an extremely insight view to the mind of Noel. NME’s has written an intresting article on some of the topics he’s blogged about already:
Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has been writing a blog documenting his band’s current US tour, in which he revealed that he wishes that US Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama was British.
Gallagher explained that he watched Obama making his recent acceptance speech on US TV, which he felt particularly inspired by.
“Managed to catch that Barack Obama’s speech to the Democratic rally,” he wrote. “Impressive stuff. Spellbinding in fact. Wish he was one of ours. Why do Americans believe they’re electing the president of THE WORLD though?”
In Noel Gallagher’s blog, which is available to read on Oasisinet.com, the guitarist also revealed that he finds one of the most frustrating things about being on tour is fans constantly asking him for photos.

NME has posted a very cool note, on Oasis latest single, to be released this friday, and a remix that will come with it:

The track, out September 29, will feature a Chemical Brothers remix of ‘Falling Down’ – a track from forthcoming album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ - as its B-side.Although there have been several unofficial and bootleg remixes during Oasis’ career, this is the first time the band officially allowed outside producers access to one of their songs.
The single will be available on CD, seven-inch vinyl and download formats. Fans who download the single from Oasis’ official website, Oasisinet.com, will be able to download the promo video to ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ as well. The band have also confirmed that they will tour the UK this year.

Jay-Z raps about Oasis’ Noel Gallagher
NME has just posted an intresting article, on Jay-Z and Noel’s “feud”. We truly feel this is just something overblown out of proportion, but oh well. Here’s what they had to say:
Jay-Z has rapped about Oasis’ Noel Gallagher live on stage - dissing the guitarist and mocking his hit, ‘Wonderwall’. The rapper delivered the lines during a show at New York’s Madison Square Garden last night (August 6).
During the show Jay-Z rapped: “That bloke from Oasis said I couldn’t play guitar/Somebody should have told him I’m a fuckin’ rock star”.
He then reprised a line from Oasis’ 1995 hit ‘Wonderwall’, rapping, “Today is gonna be the day that I’m gonna throw it back to you”.
A public spat has blown up between the pair since Noel Gallagher said Jay-Z was “wrong” for Glastonbury earlier this year. Jay-Z then opened his headline slot on June 28 this year with a cover of ‘Wonderwall’.
Go check out the NME website for more info on a Noel interview, on their next issue, and the infamous Jay-Z rapping video.

Video & Lyric: Wonderwall - Oasis
Today is gonna be the day
That they’re gonna throw it back to you
By now you should’ve somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don’t believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat, the word is on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I’m sure you’ve heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don’t believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Oasis Biography
Are an English rock band that formed in Manchester in 1991. The group was formed by Liam Gallagher (vocals), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass) and Tony McCarroll (drums), who were soon joined by Liam’s older brother Noel Gallagher (lead guitar, lead vocals). Oasis have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and have had eight UK number one singles. The Gallagher brothers are the band’s leading songwriters and the only continual members. The present lineup is completed by rhythm/lead guitarist and songwriter Gem Archer, guitarist and songwriter Andy Bell and unofficial drummer Chris Sharrock.
The band initially gained prominence performing on the Manchester club circuit. They were signed to independent record label Creation Records and afterwards released their debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994. The following year, the band recorded (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? (1995) with their new drummer Alan White, whilst rivalling with Britpop peers Blur in the charts. The Gallagher brothers were featured regularly in tabloid newspapers for their sibling rivalry and wild lifestyles, cultivating reputations both as bad boys and as a band of the people. At the height of their fame, Oasis’ third album, Be Here Now (1997), became the fastest-selling album in UK chart history, but lost much of its long-term appeal after the initial hype and positive reception tempered.
While recording their fourth album Standing on the Shoulder of Giants (2000) in 1999, Oasis lost two founding members and suffered a notable decline in popularity in America. The band added replacements Gem Archer and Andy Bell for Heathen Chemistry (2002). Their sixth album Don’t Believe the Truth (2005) with Zak Starkey, despite turbulent recording, became their best-selling and best-received album in a decade. The following year, the band released a compilation album entitled Stop the Clocks. In February 2007, Oasis received the BRIT Award for outstanding contribution to music. Dig Out Your Soul, the seventh studio album by the band, is set to be released in October 2008.
